Richard Shiell's images of gardens and nature have appeared in thousands of books, magazines, and nursery products. His advertising client list includes Monrovia Growers, Hines Horticulture, and Jackson and Perkins.

He teaches photography and landscape design at Bakersfield College, and writes a bi-weekly gardening column for the Bakersfield Californian newspaper.
